Job Title : Crew Scheduler

Summary : The Crew Scheduler is the primary point of contact for our front-line crew members, coordinating logistics and managing their rosters within the immediate 72-hour window, ensuring safety, maintaining Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) compliance, and mitigating crew-related delays in our dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions :

  • Operations Management : Assist in the daily management of crew schedules within the immediate 72-hour operational window, focusing on adherence to safety standards, preventing Crewmember fatigue, and ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR). This includes closely monitoring flight and duty time limitations and rest requirements to prevent fatigue and ensure Crewmembers are operating within legal and safe parameters. The Crew Scheduler plays a critical role in the execution of risk mitigation strategies and contributes to the smooth recovery of operations during irregular situations, ensuring minimal disruption and delay.
  • Logistical Coordination : Responsible for the meticulous coordination of all travel-related logistics for Crewmembers, including booking and updating hotel accommodations, arranging ground transportation, and scheduling commercial flights for positioning. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to adjust plans swiftly in response to schedule changes or operational demands, ensuring Crewmembers are supported with the necessary travel arrangements for their assignments.
  • Communication : Maintain open and effective communication with Crewmembers, the Crew Scheduling Supervisor, and other relevant departments within the airline. The Crew Scheduler is essential in facilitating the flow of information regarding schedule changes, operational updates, and crew feedback, ensuring all parties are informed and aligned with operational needs and objectives.
  • Crew Support : Act as a primary point of contact for Crewmembers regarding their scheduling needs, addressing concerns, and providing support and assistance as needed. This includes actively listening to feedback, advocating for Crewmember needs within the scheduling process, and working closely with the Crew Scheduling Supervisor to implement improvements that enhance Crewmember satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Supervisor Responsibility : No

Work Hours : Shift work, including weekends and holidays to support a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications & Experience :

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • One (1) year customer service experience (preferred)
  • One (1) year resource/manpower planning experience (preferred)
  • One (1) year airline crew scheduling and/or aviation experience (preferred)
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently and effectively.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Must pass a background check which could include fingerprinting, a pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)

Physical Demands :

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, telephone, copy machine/printer.
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Light to moderate lifting up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment :

  • Moderate noise (i.e., business offices with computers, phones, printers, and overhead lights).
  • Ability to work in a confined office or open cubicle environment
