About The Role

We’re looking for a performance-minded, relationship-driven Director of Social Media & Influencer Marketing to evolve and scale our influencer program while providing strategic oversight of our organic social channels.

70-75% of the role will be spent developing the Influencer Department. You will be responsible for scaling the organic seeding program, developing a strategic paid creator program, and establishing a revenue-driving influencer partnerships program. Heavy emphasis will also be placed on scaling the current partnership ads and whitelisting program. At an overview, the influencer program is measured through earned media value, revenue contribution , and return on ad spend - you will be responsible for driving growth through these metrics while maintaining the creator relationships that make JRB feel authentic and human.

25-30% of the role will be spent developing the Social Media Department. You should have a strong grasp of the current social media landscape amongst all social channels, with particular emphasis on Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube. You will be responsible for providing strategic insight and approving marketing and creative direction for campaigns as well as evergreen content.

Lastly, you will be responsible for leading and strategically managing the direct reports in both the Social Media and Influencer teams, as well as the Social Media team.

Influencer Marketing

  • Lead the strategy, structure, and execution of the JRB performance-driven influencer program that blends organic seeding, paid partnerships, and scalable whitelisting
  • Build and maintain authentic relationships with creators and talent agents while developing repeatable playbooks for partnership tiers
  • Use strategic decision making and a scrappy mindset when supporting new product launches through influencer gifting
  • Oversee paid influencer campaigns, managing negotiations, contract development, performance tracking, usage rights, and everything in between - especially for Partnership Ads
  • Define and own KPIs around earned media value (EMV), content performance, revenue attribution, and ROI
  • Grow and optimize our current partnerships ads and whitelisting programs that can significantly scale our reach and impact
  • Collaborate closely with the growth team to integrate influencer content into paid strategy and align on performance targets
  • Be willing to test new affiliate programs and opportunities with a consistently strategic mindset
  • Consistently use excellent communication, a contagiously positive attitude and attention to detail when working with agencies and influencers

Social Media Marketing

  • Provide strategic oversight for organic social across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
  • Guide content strategy and campaign planning in partnership with Creative and Brand
  • Review and approve social calendars and assets—ensuring alignment with brand voice and marketing priorities
  • Monitor emerging trends, features, and platform changes to help the team stay agile
  • Analyze performance data and audience insights to guide content optimization
  • Have a strong understanding of what social trends are appropriate for the brand and which ones are not

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in a combination of social media and influencer marketing with a track record of building and scaling performance-based programs
  • Proven experience in launching and optimizing paid influencer partnerships, whitelisting, and content boosting
  • 3+ years of experience directly managing an in house team of managers and/or coordinators
  • 3+ years of experience directly managing external agencies and working with them to meet department KPIs
  • Strong fluency in metrics like EMV, ROI, CAC, affiliate/revenue attribution, and content value
  • Strategic thinker with deep understanding of DTC growth levers—how influencer and social content support bottom-line results
  • Comfortable negotiating contracts, managing budgets, and working with legal teams
  • Solid understanding of organic social best practices—able to lead a team and guide direction even if social isn’t your core focus
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Prior experience in beauty or consumer goods strongly preferred
  • Based in or willing to commute to our Montclair, NJ office 3 days/week (M/T/Th)
