Starting pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour and this position is Tuesday through Saturday. Position Summary The Lifestyles Services Director plans, organizes, develops, and directs the overall operations of the Lifestyles Services Department, providing quality activities for residents and ensuring their recreational, physical, intellectual, and social needs are met in accordance with all laws, regulations, and Century Park standards. Reports to the Executive Director. A CDL must be obtained within 6 months of hire, paid for by the community. Qualifications Must be a licensed recreation specialist (BS degree) or have 2 years’ experience in a social recreation program within the last 5 years Must have 3+ years of supervisory experience Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) in the current state with a clean driving record preferred Prior experience with seniors is preferred Primary Job Responsibilities Administrative and Planning Plans, develops, organizes, coordinates, implements, and evaluates quality activity programs Provides activity events on weekdays, weekends, and evenings Ensures compliance with budget in labor and expense control Develops an imaginative and varied monthly calendar of Lifestyles Services Communicates the monthly calendar of Lifestyles Services to residents and staff Promotes, coordinates, and tracks hours of volunteers Lifestyles Services Duties Welcomes and assists new residents with adjustment to the community Interviews new residents to determine Lifestyles Services information Takes pictures of new residents for welcoming purposes (e.g., newsletter) and for resident care (e.g., medication charts) Gears Lifestyles Services toward residents' abilities and interests, involving residents and families Identifies resident needs and fulfills them Encourages social involvement through outings and events: shopping, sightseeing, parks, dining out, sports events, theater, etc. Encourages intellectual and educational development through literature, lectures, movies, and cultural events Encourages entertainment and personal development through hobbies, music, and crafts Promotes wellness and healthy lifestyles through exercise programs Encourages spiritual fulfillment through religious activities Observes resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement; reports concerning behaviors or changes to the appropriate director Drives community vehicle for activities and appointments when needed Supervisory Requirements Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, supervises, and counsels the Lifestyles Services team Schedules department hours appropriately Maintains an approachable management style Treats all staff respectfully Additional Requirements Enjoys serving seniors Demonstrates excellent customer service and hospitality Trustworthy and dependable Works efficiently with minimal supervision Effective written and verbal communication skills Graciously receives and resolves complaints Resourceful, creative, open-minded, and patient Aware of the department’s role in marketing and public relations Proper attire and grooming at all times Aptitude in arts, crafts, or music is highly desirable Adheres to Century Park’s Code of Ethics and completes all required compliance training Who We Are At Century Park Associates, we are dedicated to enriching our residents' lives and providing a rewarding environment for our staff.
