Bachelor’s in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, or related field, National certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent), and 1–2+ years recent hospital lab experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A rewarding opportunity is available for a Medical Technologist to support laboratory operations in a dynamic hospital setting located in Huntington, TX. This contract position offers the chance to apply your skills in a fast-paced environment, working a unique 7 on/7 off schedule with a mix of 10- and 12-hour shifts during the mids shift (12 PM - 10 PM), Monday through Thursday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform generalist laboratory testing including Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, and Blood Bank Serology.
• Utilize expertise in blood bank procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Operate EMR systems such as MedHost and Blood Bank systems like Cerner.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to provide accurate and timely laboratory results.
• Float between departments as necessary to support staffing needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Certified Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) through ASCP.
• Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
• At least 1 year of experience as a generalist medical technologist.
• Blood bank experience is mandatory.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with no block scheduling; occasional floating may be required.
• Familiarity with scrub color code of red/black preferred.
