Job Description

Our client, a leading organization in the payroll industry, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be part of the finance department supporting payroll operations. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Location: Iron Mountain, MI (Hybrid: M-Wed in office, Th/Fri Remote)

Pay Range: $25-$27/hr

Shift: Traditional business hours - Hybrid: M-Wed in office, Th/Fri Remote

What's the Job?

• Process weekly payroll for union employees (600+).
• Create upload files for retirement plan and HSA contributions.
• Perform accurate and timely entry of job, salary, and personal data.
• Maintain and update multiple Excel Workbooks used in payroll processing.
• Analyze and resolve data discrepancies between the payroll database and employee inquiries.

What's Needed?

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
• 3-5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably end-to-end processing experience.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Integrity and trustworthiness specific to confidentiality and privacy of employee information.
